Dog Agility

Dogs are quite naturally very agile creatures. Some are trained to become even more agile than normal.

You may have seen dog agility competitions on television where dogs compete by seeing which dog can run through tunnels and jump over objects while weaving around poles.

These can be quite fun to watch in my opinion.

Do you want your dog to take part in dog agility competitions? Well this is a special type of dog training that usually isn't covered very much in dog training guides.

Any healthy fit dog can compete in a dog agility competition. Dogs with disabilities and overweight dogs are generally barred from competition due to health factors.

There is usually no age limit for dogs that compete. Puppies are encouraged to compete as well as adult dogs.

It's important when you are attending a dog agility contest that you are wearing comfortable clothes and shoes that you can run in. Your dog should have a leather or webbed buckle collar and you should be using a long lead made of rope, nylon, or leather - do not use chain leads because they can get caught in the jumps.

Dog agility is a lot of fun. You and your dog will both have fun training and competing in dog agility contests. And it should help keep you both fit & in shape!

Dog Training Books

I definitly recommend an eBook (such as the top ranked Sit Stay Fetch) over a hardcover book for the following reasons:

1. Immediate Download.

You can start right NOW! There's no shipping to wait for. No store you have to go to. After you purchase Sit Stay Fetch you will have *immediate* access.

2. Additional Bonuses.

With Sit Stay Fetch you don't only get a book but you also get access to email the author of the book directly and ask more dog training questions. Find a hardcover book like that? I didn't think so! That's a pretty great bonus. But that's not all. SSF also comes with an *audio* version! That's right. You'll get both the book and an audio version so you can listen to it if you want to instead of reading. SSF also comes with numerous bonus books such as a guide to how to groom your dog.

3. Free Newsletter.

If for some reason all of that is not enough to get you to purchase this amazing dog training product over any old boring hardcover book then how about the fact that you can sign up for the free newsletter and get dog training information for free with no obligation to buy anything. Pretty cool.

Dog Trainer Los Angeles (LA) California

If you are looking for a Dog Trainer in the Los Angelas area we are here to provide that information. But before I give you a list of Dog Trainers in LA I would like to suggest the idea of learning dog training so that you can train your own dog. There are many benefits to this strategy beginning with the huge savings in money as professional dog trainers tend to be very expensive.

The biggest advantage to training your own dog is that when you use a professional dog trainer your dog will often learn how to behave properly only around the pro dog trainer and in the areas where the pro dog trainer works with him. This is not good! You need your dog to behave well in all areas. Your dog will learn to behave in all areas and around all people if you are the trainer because you can train your dog in all the different circumstances.

If you are interested in training your own dog, I must suggest Sit Stay Fetch which is the top online dog training program. It's extremely thorough in the amount of information it contains and it's also well written and easy to understand. Career in Dog Training

So you want to be a professional dog trainer? I suggest first learning everything you can from programs like Sit Stay Fetch and then look for a local dog training school. This way you'll be way ahead of the game and more likely to impress.

You may not even need to go to a "dog training school." Many professional dog trainers are "self educated."

By using Sit Stay Fetch and training your own dogs you could learn everything you need to learn to become a good dog trainer. It may be a matter of what kind of licenses or certificates are required in your area.

Positive Dog Training

Positive Dog Training is also known as positive reinforcement dog training. This is not a training method based on just throwing out treats and goodies and hoping this makes the dogs happy. Postive dog training is a manipulative system to make the dog relate certain positive behaviors with certain reward. This system works much better and is more human than negative training.

Dogs do not understand that when you are yelling at them that that means they shouldn't do whatever they were doing. They only learn to become afraid of you this way. Your dog must understand you for your training to be effective.

Dog's are much more easily able to understand positive dog training.
